The information you provide us in advance will allow us to best prepare to receive and treat your pet, so that they may have the best possible outcome.

 
 

Please contact us immediately if your pet exhibits one of the following issues:

 

Symptoms from eating mouse or rat poison, especially during cabin season. These poisoning symptoms may manifest 12 hours up until one week after ingestion:

  • Bleeding from the mouth, eyes or other body opening

  • Sudden bruising or skin lesions

  • Vomiting or diarrhea

  • Lethargy

  • Traumatic physical injuries, broken bones or bite wounds

  • Labored or rapid breathing

  • Excessive coughing

  • Blue or pale gums

  • Difficulty urinating

  • Coughing up blood, or bloody diarrhea

  • Ingestion of an inedible object

  • Birthing and pregnancy difficulties

  • Fish hook impalement

  • Seizures or twitching

  • Hiding

  • Yelping when moving

  • Not moving or inability to walk

  • String hanging out of any orifice

 

With cats specifically, it is important to engage a veterinarian as soon as possible when the following occur:

  • Excessive drooling

  • Open mouth breathing

  • Continued vomiting (more than three times in a day)

  • Not eating for more than two days

  • Excessive grooming of the nether regions

  • Excessive trips to the litter box

  • Lack of urine in the litterbox for more than 36 hours

  • Sitting over the water bowl and not moving
